Guam, 03 April 2024 – Dusit Thani and Dusit Beach will host a vibrant Songkran celebration, featuring a variety of exciting activities and traditional rituals in celebration of the Thai New Year. The public is invited to join our in-house guests and Thai community for an unforgettable immersive experience for participants of all ages on Sunday, April 14 from 1pm to 4pm.

As the most anticipated festival in Thailand, Songkran is a time for merriment and reverence, marked by age-old customs and jubilant celebrations. At Dusit, we are thrilled to share the spirit of Songkran with the public through a series of engaging events that showcase the richness of Thai culture.

Monks from the local Thai temple have been invited to conduct the Bathing of Buddha ceremony, a sacred ritual where scented water is poured over Buddha statues to cleanse the spirit and usher in good fortune for the year ahead. This serene moment of reflection offers a meaningful connection to Thai spirituality and tradition.

Additionally, guests will have the opportunity to witness captivating traditional dance performances and the art of Muay Thai with thrilling demonstrations by skilled practitioners. Known as the “Art of Eight Limbs,” Muay Thai is Thailand’s national sport, renowned for its dynamic techniques and disciplined mastery.

“We are delighted to invite our guests to celebrate Songkran with us and experience the beauty and joy of Thai culture,” said Chris Cortezano, Director of Rooms at Dusit Thani Guam Resort. “Our festivities promise to be a memorable celebration of community, tradition, and the spirit of renewal.”

To add to the excitement, we have two offers -

  • Dusit Thani’s SOI signature Thai restaurant will feature an exclusive 4-course set menu from April 12-15 only. The Songkran Splash will be available for dinner and prepared by Dusit’s award-winning Thai Chef, Chalong Sakkapalangkul.

  • Dusit Thani will have a special Songkran room rate for Sunday April 14th, $150+11% for day use (check-in 8 am) and $170+11% for overnight (check-in 3 pm).
