Guam, Dec. 18, 2024 - United Airlines, the largest U.S. airline serving Taipei from the United States, announced today that customers can now book travel between Taipei (TPE) and Guam (GUM) for travel beginning in April 2025. United announced the new nonstop service last month, which will provide twice-weekly service between the two destinations on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The Guam to Taipei flight will depart Guam at 7:00 a.m. and arrive in Taipei at 9:25 a.m. local time. Return flights from Taipei to Guam will depart at 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays, respectively, and arrive in Guam at 4:20 p.m. and 4:50 p.m. the same day. United will operate the flights with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, offering 166 seats, 16 of which are in business class.

The launch of the new Taipei-Guam service underscores United’s commitment to Guam and the region by opening new routes that offer more ways for travelers to enjoy Guam and the Micronesia region,” said Sam Shinohara, Managing Director of Airport Operations, Asia/Pacific at United. “Opening the new market will support the island’s tourism recovery efforts and plans to diversify its inbound markets. The new route provides convenient connections for travelers throughout Asia and a new direct and convenient destination for Guam travelers to enjoy Taiwan’s exciting and unique cultural, culinary, natural, and historical experiences.

George Chiu, Chairman of the Board for the Guam Visitors Bureau said, “We are super excited with this upcoming launch from United Airlines. This Taipei flight is one of the few non-Japan origin flights with a daytime arrival in Guam, which in itself will be a huge marketing advantage. It lends further support that United is our hometown carrier and here to stay.”

Guam residents will not need a visa to travel to Taipei. Travel can be booked through travel agents, united.com, the United app, and through the Guam City Ticket Office in Tiyan. Customers in Guam and Micronesia needing assistance can call 1-800-UNITED1 (1-800-864-8331).
