(Tamuning, Guam) – In keeping with the ongoing celebration of Atkins Kroll’s 110th anniversary, Atkins Kroll and BMW Group Asia proudly announced their collaboration to support initiatives around the Guam PGA Junior League event on April 27, 2024 with the aim of nurturing the future generation of golfers and make a positive impact within the community.
President of Atkins Kroll, Alex Yap, emphasized the significance of supporting junior golfers, stating, “Junior golfers are the future of Guam golf. They will learn integrity, teamwork, and patience through this league and will become not only skilled golfers but also well-mannered adults.”
Lars Nielsen, Managing Director of BMW Group Asia said, “BMW has long history with golf and we are proud to further our commitment to the sport in Guam”. In addition to a full day of training in golf skills and etiquette, BMW Group Asia also sponsored green fees for 22 members, volunteer cart fees, prizes, trophies, banners, photo booth, and all-day refreshments.
Nathan Kang, a registered PGA Professional, directs the Guam PGA Junior League. Kang highlighted the importance of community support in the growth of golf, particularly the role of junior golfers. He stated, “ We want to ensure that the sport continues to thrive for generations to come”.
The Guam PGA Junior League, the first official PGA Junior League in the country, debuted in January 2024. This initiative provides a platform for boys and girls aged 15 and under to learn and enjoy the game of golf under the guidance of PGA and LPGA Professionals. Through fun, social, and inclusive opportunities, young golfers have the chance to develop essential values such as integrity, teamwork, and patience.
