Guam, 30 April 2024 – As part of their commitment to the environment, the combined Dusit Guam properties (Dusit Thani Guam Resort, Dusit Beach Resort Guam, Bayview Hotel and Aquarium of Guam) kicked off Earth Week with a tree planting event at a local elementary school, iLearn Academy Charter School. This initiative aimed to foster a sense of responsibility for the environment while enhancing the greenery of the school grounds. The elementary school recently moved to its new location almost two years ago and was in need of foliage for the campus. Dusit’s landscaping vendor- Greenscapes, happily donated two Triangle Palm Trees and two indigenous trees (Niyoron) for this project.

Additionally, Dusit Guam held a beach and roadside clean-up which was also open to hotel guests from Dusit Thani, Dusit Beach and Bayview Hotel. These clean-up efforts not only contribute to preserving Guam’s natural beauty, but also serve as a hands-on way for guests to participate in environmental conservation efforts during their stay. Breakfast was provided for all cleanup participants at the oceanfront restaurant, Beach House Grill.

As a special treat for the in-house guests, Dusit Thani and Dusit Beach offered free admission to the Aquarium of Guam. Guests had the opportunity to explore the wonders of marine life while learning about the importance of ocean conservation during a brief presentation.

This year marked the first collaborative celebration of Earth Week between employees and in-house guests. By coming together to plant trees, clean up beaches and roadsides, and learn about marine life, Dusit Guam hopes to inspire a lasting appreciation for our planet and encourage everyone to take action to protect it.

The Earth Week festivities among all Dusit Guam properties are part of the Dusit Hotels & Resorts’ global sustainability efforts, which aim to minimize environmental impact and promote responsible tourism across all properties.
