Guam, 04 October 2022 – Dusit Guam employees continue to support Catholic Social Services and affiliates, this time through the Summer Snack Drive for the Alee Shelter which provides emergency and protective shelter to women and children suffering from abuse, neglect and violence.

The Alee Shelter helps children heal through education, prevention, and treatment services - however it does not have funding to provide for children who are unable to afford to bring snacks to school.

Food insecurity is an issue worthy of community awareness as it affects many children who go to school and return home hungry. With the community’s involvement we can make a significant difference in the lives of these children by helping to ensure they are properly nourished in order to learn to their full capacities.

The Dusit Guam snack donation drive was a great way to promote awareness among the staff while supporting the children’s educational efforts on Guam and their core needs.

Non-perishable snack donations totaled close to $5000 dollars.

Food items included chips, fruit snacks, boxed juices, cookies, crackers, granola bars, chocolates, boxed milk, pudding and cereals.
