GUAM

(Tamuning, Guam) Monday, October 9, 2023 - As the impending storm approaches, we want to assure the community that GTA is working diligently around the clock to ensure the stability and reliability of our network. We recognize that island residents rely on our communication services to stay informed during emergencies, and we are fully committed to preparing for this situation.

Here's a brief overview of the proactive steps we are taking:

  • Topping off the fuel tanks for our generators and vehicles to ensure we have enough gas.

  • Thoroughly checking the batteries in our Remote Equipment Centers and Cell Sites.

  • Securing our facilities by putting up shutters and reinforcing their safety.

  • Ensuring the safety of any ongoing construction projects.

  • Pre-positioning recovery equipment such as pumps and generators in secure locations for post-storm efforts.

GTA lines are securely installed underground, designed to withstand typhoons. However, it’s important to note that depending on the severity and location of the storm, there may be intermittent service disruptions. We are committed to minimizing service interruptions as much as possible.

Please be advised that stores and customer service hours may be adjusted depending on the severity of the storm. At Condition of Readiness 1 (COR1), our retail stores may be closed to ensure the safety of both customers and employees, and customer service hours may change as well.

Your safety and connectivity are our top priorities, and we are here to support you during this challenging time. For real-time updates on outages and valuable tips, we encourage residents and media partners to follow us on Facebook and Instagram (@GTA TeleGuam). In the event of an outage or any other issue, customers can reach GTA through our Contact Center by calling us at 671-644-4482 during operational times, or by using the live chat feature on our website.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation, and please stay safe.
