(Fadian, Mangilao) – The Guam Power Authority (GPA) announces its partnership with the University of Guam (UOG) to provide internship opportunities for college students interested in a career within the power utility industry. On April 4, 2024, GPA and UOG met to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to solidify the combined efforts to build and support careers for our local college students and our local workforce.

“GPA acknowledges the importance of cultivating our future workforce. Offering college students the chance to acquire hands-on experience from industry experts will ignite their interest in the electric utility sector. This initiative aims to establish a talent pipeline for prospective employees while also fostering mentorship opportunities for aspiring team leaders and supervisors” noted GPA Personnel Services Administrator, Jon-Rey Aguigui.

The GPA Workforce Internship program offers opportunities for college students to gain formal work experience in areas such as Engineering, Cybersecurity, Human Resources, Finance and other fields.

GPA will be accepting applications for internships until May 2, 2024. Interested participants can visit www.guampowerauthority.com under the “How Do I” tab to see listings, applications and instructions.

Please visit www.guampowerauthority.com and GPA’s social media pages for more information.
