The new photography book titled “University of Guam Marine Laboratory: 50 Years of Science & Service” celebrates five decades of scientific exploration and adventure at the University of Guam Marine Laboratory. With images and writing from faculty, students, and colleagues, the book captures the commitment and passion of those who have shaped the Marine Lab — and contributed to marine sciences and the growth of biological research in the Western Pacific.
“This book is the first of its kind that has tried to tell the Marine Lab’s 50-year-long story. It covers many stories of people who have passed through our doors over the last five decades,” said Laurie Raymundo, interim director of the Marine Lab and professor of marine biology at UOG. “I’m very happy to have produced this book as a recognition for everyone who has some history at the Lab.”
The book was published by the University of Guam Press and is available for sale through the UOG Press website. A portion of the sales will help fund the research and service of the Marine Lab.
