Restaurant serves legendary Japanese teppanyaki by Japan's top culinary expert

(Tamuning, Guam – Aug. 29, 2002) - The RIHGA Royal Laguna Guam Resort today announced the opening of Chef Okamoto’s elevated chef’s table experience at its teppanyaki restaurant, The President Nippon. This unique and intimate dining experience includes multi-course menus, specially designed by Chef Okamoto or pre-arranged by his guests. The dining experience is now available for couples or groups of up to four guests per evening.

As one of the leading hoteliers in Japan with a vast and distinguished legacy, the RIHGA Royal Laguna Guam Resort is well-known throughout Japan for its dining experiences.

General Manager Nobuyuki Tsurui noted that the resort is enhancing its culinary experience at The President Nippon to meld exceptional Japanese hospitality with custom-made menus that incorporate the freshest produce and ingredients. A key ingredient will be flown in – the best wagyu beef from Japan.

Chef Okamoto has served guests in restaurants all over the world from prestigious French restaurants in Japan, as an executive chef at the Pan Pacific Hotel in San Francisco, and in fine restaurants across the United States and Europe. Most notably, Chef Okamoto served more than 12 years at Roppongi Ukai-tei in Central Tokyo, Japan. Roppongi Ukai-tei is the premier teppan restaurant in Japan, where Chef Okamoto also held the position as its head chef. His well-rounded culinary expertise includes pastry, western, Chinese, and authentic, traditional Japanese cuisine.

Chef Okamoto has created unforgettable food experiences, sometimes up to 11 courses, for past Japanese prime ministers, professional athletes, and celebrities. He is honored to share his unique style and custom-made teppan cuisine with guests in Guam.

Chef Okamoto is launching three teppan menus:

  • Sakura – six-course menu: $130

  • Kikyo – six-course menu: $160

  • Botan – seven-course menu: $190

RIHGA Royal Laguna Guam Resort invites guests to place their reservations for Chef Okamoto’s chef’s table experience, which begins on Sept. 1, 2022, by contacting Mr. Steve Balakrishna, Director of Food and Beverage via phone at (671) 688-8123. Reservations require name, date and time of reservation, and method of payment. Additionally, allergies or dietary requirements are required at the time of booking. Reservations may not exceed five persons per reservation. The chef’s table has limited seating with only one table per evening. Guests will enjoy complimentary valet service with their dinner reservations. All menus are subject to a 10% service charge. PHR Club discounts (20%) are applicable.
