United Airlines partners with the Guam Visitors Bureau and the Guam International Airport Authority to host a gate celebration on April 2, 2025, at the A. B. Guam, April 2, 2025 – United Airlines hosted a gate celebration today at the A. B. Won Pat International Airport, Guam to celebrate the launch of the Guam-Taipei direct service. The new service is the second new route United has launched for Guam within a year. Along with travel partner the Guam Visitors Bureau (GVB), United welcomed customers to the inaugural flight between the two cities, which will operate twice weekly. United hosted a similar gate celebration in Taipei to welcome customers on the full inbound flight.
Sam Shinohara, Managing Director of Airport Operations, Asia/Pacific at United, said, “United is connecting two of the most beautiful tropical destinations in the region to offer our customers more unique travel experiences. Additionally, the launch of the new Guam-Taipei route opens new tourism markets for both Guam and Taipei and is a leap in a positive direction in the recovery of Guam’s tourism recovery efforts. We are committed to ensuring this new route is a success.”
Twice-weekly Direct Service
The Guam to Taipei flight will depart Guam at 7:00 a.m. and arrive in Taipei at 9:25 a.m. local time. Return flights from Taipei to Guam will depart at 10:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays, respectively, and arrive in Guam at 4:20 p.m. and 4:50 p.m. the same day. United will operate the flights with a Boeing 737-800 aircraft, offering 166 seats, 16 of which are in business class.

As Guam’s hometown airline for more than 55 years, United offers more than 80 weekly flights to 14 destinations including Taipei, Koror, Manila, four destinations in Japan, and destinations across the Federated States of Micronesia and the Marshall Islands. Guam residents will not need a visa to travel to Taipei. Travel can be booked through travel agents, united.com, the United app, and through the Guam City Ticket Office in Tiyan.
