Tamuning, Guam – Thursday, May 23, 2024 – In recognition of her unwavering support for the nation’s military personnel, Rosanna M. Torres, GTA Retail Manager, has been awarded the prestigious Patriot Award by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). This accomplishment underscores the exceptional efforts of employers and their representatives in supporting employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. Rosanna’s outstanding dedication was celebrated during a special ESGR luncheon on Monday, May 20th at the Hyatt Regency Guam, where she was formally recognized for her contributions.

The Patriot Award is part of ESGR’s broader initiative to promote cooperation and understanding between Reserve Component Service members and their civilian employers. It acknowledges individual supervisors or managers nominated by a Guardsman or Reservist employee. This includes providing flexible schedules, granting time off before and after deployment, caring for families, and allowing leaves of absence if needed.

“As a company rooted in Guam for nearly 75 years, our commitment to both the community and our military service members is paramount,” stated Stacy Elarmo, Vice President of People Operations at GTA. “Rosanna embodies GTA’s dedication to assisting those who serve, showing how employers can support personnel in the Guard and Reserve. At GTA, our commitment to helping employees balance roles in both civilian and military life remains strong.”

GTA cultivates an environment that values and uplifts the distinct contributions of our military personnel. Over the past few years, the local telecom company has garnered recognition from ESGR, having received both the Freedom Award in 2021 and the Pro Patria Award in 2022. Rosanna’s recent acknowledgment further underscores GTA’s steadfast dedication to fostering a workplace that is supportive and inclusive for all team members.
