Demobilizing Soldiers and Airmen of the Guam National Guard's Joint Task Force 671 (COVID-19) were presented Guam Commendation Awards, a Legislative Resolution, and other awards at the Barrigada Readiness Complex on April 1. In the resolution presented by Sen. Shelton and in remarks made by Gov. Leon Guerrero, the troops were recognized for their willingness to volunteer during the island's time of need, and for the difference they made in supporting the Government of Guam with COVID-19 response. There are approximately 100 troops remaining in the JTF, which continues to focus on vaccination, testing, and operational and logistical support.
