Did you know that in Japan folding 1,000 origami cranes earns you a wish? The art of origami dates back to Japan's Edo Period and though specific sheets of square paper are used, you can use any scraps of paper you have at home for this craft.

You may have heard of the legend of 1,000 origami cranes if you've ever visited The Hiroshima Peace Memorial. This legend was popularized in the 50s, when Sadako Sasaki, a victim of the Hiroshima bombing, set a goal to fold 1,000 cranes when she became ill.
