It is always wonderful to discover a new, exotic place to eat. Saipan's Everest Kitchen makes the discovery more memorable. I had the opportunity to stop by here one afternoon and was delighted to have my friend, Chef Gabriele Colombo, join me for a late lunch.
In the past year an ultra-modern, futuristic white building was constructed next to the Fire Station and near the American Memorial Park in Garapan. This anomalous structure with the sleek dark glass windows has a sign above with the letters “HAIKU” in bold metal. What a first impression!
Chowon is ideal for those looking for a home-style Korean dining experience. It really has a bright, relaxing ambiance. It is usually filled with Korean customers, so you know you are getting the real deal when you are eating here.
Owned and operated by Sang Kim and his sibling sisters Phuong and Huong, who do most of the cooking, it’s hard to go wrong with anything on this Vietnamese restaurant’s menu.
I never did make it to Latte Bistro under the former management! When I heard from my primo Joe B. that I needed to try out the food at the Latte Bistro I thought it best to go sooner than later and I’m glad I did.
I finally was able to make the stop inside Himawari for lunch during a recent Saipan visit. I had seen the bakery and store during a previous trip but had only heard the rave reviews about how wonderful the Japanese food was. Now I could find out for myself.
We had been meaning to stop by Mai Thai for a few months now and waited until we returned from Bangkok to try it out. We did and were for the most part quite impressed. One notable thing about this restaurant’s ambiance is authenticity of its furniture.
